Scotland 2007 – 2008

This is ‘Our’ story in photos.

Throughout 2007 & 2008 we have spent many weekends travelling around the country of Scotland - with the odd minor detour to England and Ireland as well. We are presently living north of Edinburgh in a small wide spread village called Markinch. Outside our small estate are fields and mountains.  Deer roam freely in the area (although they are timid and you don’t see them often) and in our own back yard, birds of all sorts feast on the seeds we put out for them.  It is a pretty place to live with a golf course within gentle walking pace from our house.  Also nearby is Balbirnie House, a magnificent place where we often go for our lunch on Sundays.

When we travel further out, we find ourselves travelling to places like, Loch Lomond, Glencoe, Inveraray, Loch Fyne, Cairngorms National Park, Isle of Skye and many, many, more places.  We now have a collection of thousands and thousands of photos and it would be impossible to share them all with you.  However, we have gathered a small selection and put them together for you to enjoy.  We belong to a couple of camera clubs and often enter photos into competitions.  However these can take hours of work per photo to get ‘just right’, so the photos we have for you here aren’t necessarily our competition images, but photos that hopefully help you to be apart of our journeys.

Many Sundays we leave home at 4am, not knowing what the weather will be like – mostly it is a mixture of rain, wind, cold and even snow showers.  Even if the weather isn’t good to start the day if you hang around long enough it fines up for some of it.  We go prepared, spare clothes and a thermos filled with hot water for making cups of tea and a good  dash of patience and a great dollop of ‘Sense of Humour’ in our car.

We hope you enjoy our journey with us.  Please write and let us know what you think.
